During the period when Dr. Bongha Ryu, Honorary Director, served as director of the Herbal Medicine Research Institute at Kyung Hee Medical Center, he held an academic forum on research into modern formulations of herbal medicine and the development of natural product medicines.
This forum was held at 4:30 p.m. on the 12th in Seminar Room 1 of the Information Administration Building at Kyung Hee Medical Center, under the theme “Development of New Herbal Medicine Formulations and Natural Product Medicines.” It was an opportunity to study herbal medicine in more diverse forms and to explore directions that could be used in clinical practice.
The event also carried the meaning of looking back on the 2nd anniversary of the opening of the Herbal Medicine Research Institute. In addition, with the research achievement of launching 2 million Cheongin Troche (HH904) units as a starting point, it was prepared as a time to share how herbal medicine–based formulation research had developed through its processes.
Research on new herbal medicine formulations is a field that considers ease of use, quality control, and formulation stability while building on the strengths of traditional decoctions. In the development of natural product medicines as well, it is important to proceed step by step with scientific review of medicinal herbs and natural products, confirmation of safety, and consideration of clinical applicability.
Based on this flow of research and clinical experience, Hoechundang Kyunghee Ryu Korean Medicine Clinic aims to continue providing care tailored to each patient’s condition. When tradition and modern research meet in balance, Korean medicine can stand beside patients in a more careful and broader way.
