02ABOUT

What Kind of Medicine Is Gyeongokgo?

Gyeongokgo means “a beautiful jewel-like medicinal paste (膏藥)” and was first recorded in Hong Jun’s Hongshi Jiyan Fang (洪氏集驗方) from the Song dynasty. It has been passed down as a prescription for ikgi-yangeum (augmenting qi and nourishing yin, 益氣養陰), used for heoro geonhae (dry cough caused by depleted energy, 虛勞乾咳). It is considered a representative anti-aging herbal tonic that may help yeonnyeon-iksu (supporting health and longevity, 延年益壽).

It replenishes essence (精) and supports marrow (髓), darkens the hair, and helps teeth grow.
